Our sails are not wind-load tested or rated, and we don’t recommend leaving them installed during storms or high-wind events. That said, the open weave allows air to pass through rather than catching it like a solid fabric, which reduces sail pressure compared to synthetic shade cloth. For seasonal and fair-weather installations, we recommend secure anchoring at every attachment point and taking sails down in advance of severe weather.
